Methyl siliconates are used as water repellents due to their durability, good hydrophobicity and ease of application.
SiSiB methyl siliconates are highly alkaline aqueous solution and impart water repellency on porous surfaces, such as sandstone, limestone, brick, roofing tiles, floor tiles, granite, pottery clay and etc. SiSiB methyl siliconates include SiSiB® WR0777 potassium methyl siliconate solution and SiSiB® WR0772 sodium methyl siliconate solution. They are not suitable for polished or glazed surfaces.
Methyl siliconates by SiSiB, a reliable silicone supplier, penetrate into the porous surface and react with atmospheric carbon dioxide to form a water-repellent surface barrier and white colored precipitate after the water has evaporated. The white layer is water-insoluble and visible according to the dosage, removal processes should be taken to keep the appearance of surface satisfactory.
SiSiB methyl siliconate penetrating sealers for concrete are good clear silicone waterproof sealant options with an excellent water bead effect the formulations based on siliconates are simple handling, solvents free, order free and low-cost. However they are strong alkaline and easily being washed out by rain before cured. 24 hours or longer dry time is best.
The treated surfaces are colorless/non-yellowing and noninflammable retaining natural vapor permeability with good durability and weatherability.
