RTV-2 for Moldmaking

With more than 30 years of manufacturing experience in silicone materials and specialty chemicals, SiSiB SILICONES provides a broad range of RTV-2 silicone rubber technologies for moldmaking, casting, prototyping, industrial replication, and specialty molding applications.

SiSiB® RTV-2 Silicone Rubber for Moldmaking is a two-component room-temperature vulcanizing silicone system designed for accurate mold reproduction and long-term molding performance. The product range includes both condensation cure systems and addition cure systems to meet different processing requirements, curing conditions, and application demands.

Condensation cure RTV-2 silicone rubber typically uses organotin catalyst technology and releases small amounts of alcohol during curing. These systems are widely used for general moldmaking applications due to their easy processing, good flowability, adjustable working time, and cost efficiency.

Addition cure RTV-2 silicone rubber is based on platinum-catalyzed crosslinking technology and cures without generating byproducts during vulcanization. Compared with condensation cure systems, addition cure silicones generally provide lower shrinkage, improved dimensional stability, better long-term mechanical performance, and higher molding precision, making them suitable for demanding industrial and precision casting applications.

Depending on product structure and hardness design, selected grades can provide excellent flowability, low shrinkage, favorable tensile and tear strength, easy demolding, high duplication performance, and resistance to heat, aging, and chemical exposure. The product range covers very soft to medium hardness systems suitable for both manual and industrial mold production.

SiSiB® RTV-2 Moldmaking Silicone Rubber is widely used in artificial stone molding, gypsum and concrete casting, resin crafts, wax casting, candle molding, sculpture replication, decorative products, architectural components, prototype reproduction, and various industrial molding applications. Selected grades are also suitable for epoxy resin, polyester resin, polyurethane casting, and composite material processing.
