Siloxane masterbatch is pelletized micro-dispersions of special ultra-high molecular weight siloxane polymers. Siloxane Masterbatch are produced in solid form for ease of use. They typically contain 25~50% ultra-high molecular weight siloxane polymers and different plastic carrier resins.
The siloxane polymer component of the Siloxane Masterbatch can eliminate blooming as well as migration of fluids and other organic plastic silicone additives, which can occur when using lower molecular weight silicone materials.
Siloxane masterbatch by SiSiB, a relaible silicone oil supplier, is typically used to modify the surface of finished plastic parts for friction management and to improve mar resistance and wear resistance. Siloxane masterbatch can also be used as process aids to increase melt flow for cycle time reduction.
Compared to siloxane powder, siloxane masterbatch has better dispersibility especially for the application with superior surface property. However, Siloxane masterbatch could only be used in the systems compatible with the carrier resins.
