SiSiB SILANES for Sol-Gel / Aerogel / Xerogel

SiSiB® TEOS products are used in the production of Aerogel blankets for industrial insulation and offer various advantages. Silanes and silic acid esters are particularly suitable for sol-gel process.

Ethyl Silicates SiSiB® PC5420 and SiSiB® PC5424 are usually used. The methoxy groups of the PC5410 hydrolyze relatively quickly when water is added, like all methoxy groups of the silanes. Propoxy groups (SiSiB® PC5430) hydrolyze considerably more slowly than ethoxy groups (SiSiB® PC5420).
