SiSiB® Fumed Silica & Metal Oxides are a range of high-performance ultra-fine inorganic materials designed for advanced industrial and specialty applications. SiSiB® fumed materials are commonly used for rheology control, thickening, anti-sagging, anti-settling, thixotropy control, reinforcement, surface modification, scratch resistance, thermal performance enhancement, and dispersion improvement. Due to their ultra-fine particle structure, high surface area, and controlled purity, these materials can significantly improve mechanical properties, processing stability, and overall formulation performance.
Hydrophilic fumed silica is produced through flame hydrolysis of volatile chlorosilanes in an oxyhydrogen flame, resulting in highly pure amorphous silicon dioxide with strong affinity toward polar systems. It can be readily wetted and dispersed in water and is widely used in applications requiring efficient thickening, reinforcement, and hydrogen bonding interaction.
Hydrophobic fumed silica is manufactured by surface treatment of hydrophilic fumed silica using reactive silanes or silicone fluids such as chlorosilanes, hexamethyldisilazane (HMDS), and polydimethylsiloxane (PDMS). The treated material exhibits water-repellent properties and improved compatibility with non-polar systems, making it particularly suitable for moisture-sensitive formulations, low-polarity systems, and applications requiring enhanced anti-settling and rheological stability.
SiSiB® Fumed Aluminum Oxide offers different surface chemistry and higher hardness compared with conventional fumed silica, making it suitable for applications requiring enhanced scratch resistance, wear resistance, polishing performance, thermal conductivity, and surface durability. It is widely used in coatings, thermal interface materials, electronic materials, and specialty industrial systems.
SiSiB® Fumed Titanium Dioxide features ultra-fine particle structure, high surface activity, and excellent optical properties. Compared with traditional titanium dioxide pigments, it is more suitable for advanced functional applications involving UV performance enhancement, dispersion control, surface modification, and specialty coating or electronic systems.
Compared with conventional fillers, SiSiB® fumed silica and metal oxide materials provide significantly higher efficiency at low addition levels while maintaining transparency, lightweight properties, and formulation flexibility.
