SiSiB® MQ Resin is a highly branched organosiloxane resin typically composed of mono-functional siloxy units (M units) and tetrafunctional silicate units (Q units). Depending on molecular structure, functional modification, and solvent system, selected grades can provide excellent film formation, gloss enhancement, hydrophobicity, release performance, anti-blocking properties, flexibility modification, and surface slip characteristics.
Compared with conventional organic resins, MQ silicone resins generally exhibit lower surface energy, excellent weatherability, UV resistance, thermal stability, and durable water repellency. These properties make them particularly suitable for applications requiring surface protection, easy-clean performance, release behavior, and long-term environmental stability.
Different MQ resin technologies are available for solvent-based, solvent-free, UV-curable, and silicone elastomer systems. Selected grades are widely used in release coatings, anti-graffiti coatings, pressure-sensitive adhesives, silicone elastomers, cosmetic film-formers, soft-touch coatings, and specialty additive formulations.
Depending on application requirements, SiSiB® MQ Resins can also be modified with vinyl, phenyl, alkyl, epoxy, acrylic, or other functional groups to optimize compatibility, reactivity, flexibility, and surface performance in demanding industrial and specialty applications.
