    CHINACOAT 2025 Recap:

Redefining Coating Performance Through Sustainable Silicone Innovation

    Shanghai, China | November 24–26, 2025

SiSiB SILICONES successfully participated in CHINACOAT 2025, held in Shanghai from November 24 to 26. Throughout the exhibition, one message resonated clearly across the industry: today’s coatings market no longer accepts a trade-off between high performance and regulatory compliance-both are now essential.

With over 30 years of experience in organosilicone chemistry, SiSiB SILICONES presented a comprehensive portfolio designed to meet this dual demand. While our booth showcased the full breadth of our core capabilities-including Silanes, Siloxanes, Silicone Fluids, Silicone Resins, Fumed Silica, and MS Polymers (STP)-the spotlight was firmly on our next-generation silicone additives, developed to address critical challenges in industrial, architectural, and protective coatings.

    1. Breaking the Thermal Ceiling: SiSiB® SR7001 Water-Based Silicone Resin

As the coatings industry accelerates the shift from solvent-based to water-based systems, thermal resistance is often compromised. SiSiB® SR7001 was developed to overcome this limitation.

SR7001 is a water-based silicone resin emulsion engineered for extreme high-temperature applications. In comprehensive performance testing, SR7001 demonstrated:

    · Exceptional Heat Resistance: After curing for 4 hours at 600 °C, coatings showed no adhesion failure in tape peeling tests (Adhesion Grade 0).

    · Outstanding Film Stability: Maintained excellent film integrity with no yellowing or substrate exposure across a temperature range of 200 °C to 600 °C.

    · Superior Market Performance: Benchmark evaluations confirmed that SR7001 delivers more robust and stable performance compared with conventional water-based silicone resins commonly available on the market, making it highly suitable for industrial exhaust systems, chimneys, and oven coatings.

    2. The Future of Hydrophobicity: PFAS-Free Methacrylate Silicones

With global regulations increasingly restricting PFAS (per- and polyfluoroalkyl substances), the need for safe, high-performance hydrophobic solutions has become critical.

At CHINACOAT 2025, we presented our Methacrylate-functional Silicones (ADDSiL™ Series)-a portfolio of PFAS-free hydrophobic macromonomers. Designed for seamless copolymerization with acrylic resins, these materials serve as high-performance alternatives to conventional fluorinated surface-modification additives.

    Key advantages include:

    · Permanent slip and mar resistance

    · Excellent water and oil repellency

    · Long-term durability without fluorinated compounds

    3. Regulatory Safety in Focus: MEKO-Free Anti-Skinning Agents

Following the EU classification of MEKO (Methyl Ethyl Ketoxime) as a Category 1B carcinogen, the coatings industry urgently requires safe and compliant alternatives.

SiSiB SILICONES showcased its drop-in MEKO-free anti-skinning solutions, which offer:

    · Direct replacement without formulation redesign

    · Excellent anti-skinning efficiency in alkyd systems

    · Full compliance with REACH and environmental safety requirements, helping customers future-proof their formulations

    4. Advanced Durability: Hydrolytically Stable Silane Oligomers

Conventional monomeric silanes often suffer from volatility and rapid hydrolysis. At CHINACOAT 2025, we highlighted the advantages of our silane oligomers, including amino-functional and epoxy-functional grades.

By pre-condensing silanes into oligomeric structures, these products provide:

    · Enhanced storage stability through reduced moisture sensitivity

    · Lower VOC emissions due to reduced alcohol release during curing

    · Improved coating performance, with higher functional group density contributing to superior wetting, adhesion, and crosslinking-particularly for heavy-duty protective coatings

    Looking Ahead

Our successful participation at CHINACOAT 2025 reinforces SiSiB SILICONES’ commitment to delivering sustainable, high-performance, and regulation-ready silicone solutions. We look forward to continuing discussions with global partners and advancing coating technologies that meet the evolving demands of the industry.
