SiSiB® AA3650 is a multifunctional organosiloxane oligomer containing epoxy, vinyl and hydrolysable methoxysilyl functionalities. It is designed to promote adhesion between organic polymer systems and inorganic substrates or fillers.
The hydrolysable methoxysilyl groups can form silanol groups and subsequently condense with hydroxyl-bearing inorganic surfaces. The epoxy and vinyl functionalities may react with compatible resins, curing agents or reactive components under appropriate formulation and curing conditions.
Through its multiple reactive functionalities, SiSiB® AA3650 helps improve interfacial bonding, dry and wet adhesion, and filler dispersion in silicone rubber, potting compounds, adhesives, sealants and coating systems.
Appearance | Clear liquid |
Color | Colorless to light yellow |
Density (25°C, g/cm3) | 1.00 |
Refractive Index (25°C) | 1.420 |
These values are typical and are not intended for use as specifications.
SiSiB® AA3650 is recommended for use in HTV silicone rubber, silicone potting and encapsulation compounds, epoxy and polyurethane adhesives, SMP/MS polymer sealants and adhesives, acrylic coatings and sealants, and waterborne acrylic, vinyl-acrylic, polyurethane and latex caulks or sealants.
It is normally added directly to the formulation under efficient mixing. In filled systems, it may be introduced during filler incorporation or at a later stage of production, depending on the formulation and process sequence. Typical benefits include improved filler dispersion, stronger interfacial bonding and enhanced adhesion to substrates such as glass, metals and mineral surfaces.
A starting dosage of 0.5-2.0% by weight, based on the total formulation, is recommended. The optimum addition level should be determined through laboratory trials, taking into account the resin chemistry, filler or substrate type, moisture content, curing mechanism and processing conditions.
As the product contains hydrolysable alkoxy groups, prolonged exposure to atmospheric moisture should be avoided. For waterborne systems, the addition sequence, pH, storage stability and curing performance should be evaluated before production use.
SiSiB® AA3650 is available in 25Kg pail and 200Kg drum.
SiSiB® AA3650 may be stored up to one year in a sealed container. Containers should be stored in a cool, dry area. Extended storage at elevated temperatures or exposure to direct heat or sunlight could reduce product life. Keep containers sealed when not in use.
