Adhesion Promoter

KOBOND™ 4016 is a modified polyester adhesion promoter developed for air-drying coating systems. It significantly improves adhesion to a wide range of metal substrates, including aluminum, galvanized steel, stainless steel, and electroplated surfaces. It also enhances coating flexibility and impact resistance while serving as an anti-leafing additive in aluminum-pigmented coatings without causing pigment discoloration.

Application


  • KOBOND™ 4016 is recommended for solventborne air-drying coating systems where improved adhesion, flexibility, and corrosion resistance are required. It is particularly suitable for coatings applied to aluminum, galvanized steel, stainless steel, electroplated substrates, and other difficult-to-coat metal surfaces.


  • KOBOND™ 4016 is also recommended for aluminum-pigmented coatings as an anti-leafing additive while maintaining the original appearance of metallic pigments. Typical applications include general industrial coatings, metal coatings, transportation coatings, and other protective coating systems.

Packing and Storage


  • KOBOND™ 4016 is supplied in 25Kg pail or 200Kg drum.


  • Store KOBOND™ 4016 in a cool, dry, and well-ventilated place. Keep the container tightly closed and protect it from direct sunlight.


  • When stored in the original unopened container, KOBOND™ 4016 has a shelf life of 12 months from the date of manufacture.
