Polymeric Defoamer

KOBOND™ 5414 is a polymeric silicone-free defoamer based on a vinyl copolymer. It provides effective foam control in coating systems, particularly in medium to high polarity formulations.


It combines strong defoaming efficiency with good compatibility, helping to minimize surface defects such as craters while maintaining coating performance.

Application


  • KOBOND™ 5414 is a silicone-free, polymer-based defoamer recommended for solvent-free and radiation-curing systems (UV and EB), including pigmented and unpigmented coatings, printing inks, and overprint varnishes.


  • It is also suitable for reactive polyurethane hot-melt adhesives, where it helps prevent foam formation during processing and significantly improves deaeration efficiency, even in high-viscosity systems, thereby enhancing production efficiency.


  • The defoaming performance is not adversely affected by pigments, fillers, wax additives, or matting agents, ensuring consistent performance across a wide range of formulations.

Packing and Storage


  • KOBOND™ 5414 is supplied in 25Kg pail.


  • When stored in the original unopened containers, KOBOND™ 5414 has a shelf life of 24 months from the date of production.
